The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes of maximal oxygen conception, muscle mass, whole bone mineral density and fall risk factors after 24 weeks of multi-component exercise training. Subjects were consisted of forty community -dwelling elderly women who have more than 24 MMSE score. The combined exercise program included stretching for 20 minutes, low impact aerobic for 30 minutes and 30 minutes of resistance exercise. The program was conducted 3 times a week for 24 weeks. We found that the VO2max, muscle mass and trochanter BMD were significantly increased, and the balance function and body sway were significantly improved after multi-component exercise. Also, AI(activity intensity) and PAM(physical active mass) were negatively correlated with body sway, and positively correlated with BMD. Therefore, it might be thought that increased physical activity through the multi-component exercise training would be a positive role for body composition and risk factors of fall by aging.
